After young deputy sheriff Kyle Dinkheller was shot to death during a traffic stop in Georgia in 1998, the deeply disturbing dashcam footage of the incident was repurposed into training material shown at police training facilities across the United States. The message imparted by this training video is that use of deadly force is preferable to ending up a casualty oneself. This newer school of thought may be partially responsible for the rash of police-involved shootings that have rocked communities across America.
